International VJ/Pima baseball alum exposes Nogales Little League champs to world

A former center fielder on the Pima College Baseball team that
advanced to the Championship of the 1992 Junior College World Series is
now making a name for himself worldwide, as a video disk jockey. Andres
Lopez, the former Tucson All City Outfielder from Pueblo High School
also known as DJ "Mixlab", was ranked #8 in the world in 2011 on
djlist.com, just behind well known mixers such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, and
Magic Mike of the "2 Live Crew".

Inspired by the Nogales Little
League's run to a 2014 World title, Lopez has now put together a special
video tribute of the the team's run to the title.

As Lopez puts it, the production, is
a fast paced "documentary-like video, of music and news" that pays
tribute to the Nogales group of 12 and 13 year olds.

"I just
wanted to do something special for the kids," said Lopez, "I was a
former baseball player too, and was inspired by their story."

The
video tribute on Nogales High is now on YouTube, and is expected to be a
big hit, as was the case of one of his previous projects paying tribute
to a Tucson-area team; Lopez, had a similar YouTube sensation, after
putting together a video/music mix that documented the Sunnyside girls
softball run to the Little League World Series.

"These kids
coming out of Southern Arizona, it makes you and inspires you to do
something special. -to remix a video for them to look at in the future
and share that with their families," said Lopez, who points out that he
has no ties to the team or Nogales.

The current youtube tribute
on the little league players from Santa Cruz county, also includes
elements from Cesar Chavez and the Civil rights movement, and KVOA news
clips on the border crisis in Nogales.

"It goes back to the
Cesar Chavez days. It basically provides hope, not just for those kids,
but, for any race. A future and hope for these kids to do better," said
Lopez, "It doesn't matter what color of skin you are, or what background
you come from. You can do big things even if you come from Nogales,
Arizona.

DJ Mixlab will be presenting the video to the Nogales Little League team soon, as a special gift.
